Q: What is a bail bond?
A: A bail bond is a form of bail, which is referred to as a surety bond, this guarantees the person will return to court. A bail bond company such as ours, Golden Eagle Bail Bonds, provides the service of bailing people of jail for a fee. The signed guarantee from a cosigner promises our company to make sure that the defendant appears to all their court dates until all bonds and premiums are satisfied.
Q: If I have a warrant do I have to turn myself in and then get bailed out?
A: It depends on the type of warrant that you have and what county the warrant is out of. If you have a warrant, you can call us and we can check on it for you.
Q: How much does a bail bond cost?
A: The bail bond premium is set and regulated by the California Department of Insurance at 10% of the bail amount. For example: If the bail is $10,000 the bail premium will be $1,000. In cases where the defendant is referred by an attorney or he/she is a union member then we are allowed to offer a discount. We do offer affordable payment plans and low down payments if you are unable to pay the premium in full. Call us, we will work with you to get your loved one out.
Q: Is the bail premium refundable?
A: No, the bail premium is fully earned upon the release of the defendant. If the case is dismissed, charges not file, the person was only detained or falsely arrested, the bail premium is still NON REFUNDABLE.
Q: Do you offer payment plans?
A: Yes, we offer affordably payment plans with low down payments.
Q: Are the payment plans interest free?
A: Yes, they are 100% interest free.
Q: If I bail someone out and I am making payments and the person I bailed out has finished their case, do I still have to make payments?
A: Yes you do, as the premium is fully earned upon the release of the defendant and the payment plans were offered to you as a courtesy and as an extension of credit.
Q: How long does it take to get someone out of jail?
A: If you post bail at a city jail the release time can be anywhere from 30 minutes to 60 minutes depending on the jail. If you post bail at a county jail the release time can be anywhere from 4 to 12 hours. Call our office now and we will do our best to get your loved one out fast.
