City Jail VS County Jail

If a person is arrested in a city that has a city jail, then he or she will be taken to the city jail.  Once booked at a city jail the person can then be bailed out.  The booking process at a city jail can take about an hour or more.  Once booked, the bond can be posted and the release time can be as fast as 15 minutes.

If a person is arrested in a city that does not have a city jail, then he or she will be taken to the County Jail.  County jails have a much longer booking process and a much longer release process.   It can take anywhere from 4-8 hours to be booked, and in some instances it can even take longer.  The release process Is anywhere from 4-6 hours usually, but in some instances it can take longer.
